Former Borno governor Ali Modu- Sheriff who recently was appointed Chairman of PDP says he's not a sponsor or founder of Boko Haram. His emergence as the new PDP chairman this week was heavily criticized with Femi Fani-Kayode calling him the indisputable founder of Boko Haram.

Exonerating himself, Ali Modu- Sheriff - "Boko Haram wanted to kill me at a time because they believed that I was the one that reported them to President Umaru Yar’Adua to destroy their enclave.

"It was after I left government that they moved to their different camps and bushes. Why should they kill my brother? Why should they kill my family if I am a sponsor of Boko Haram? Is there anywhere in the world that you sponsor people to kill you?”

"Let me give you a typical example. Just a week ago, all the social media planted my picture showing me with the card of APC joining the party. At that time, nobody wrote that I was Boko Haram. They said Sheriff was going back to APC; they were showing a card when we registered with APC before I left the party. We went to our villages to do it; that village they are showing on the social media was a village that was taken over by Boko Haram for the past three years. So, how could I have gone there to register?

"Few days after I became the Chairman of the PDP, Ali Sheriff is now Boko Haram; so if you are in APC you are not a Boko Haram. Throughout my period in APC, nobody said I was Boko Haram. Immediately I left the APC, I was termed Boko Haram," he said.

"Nobody in my family or relation is Boko Haram or close to any Boko Haram member. These people that wanted to kill me, up till today, if they have the chance, they will kill me because they think I reported them to Yar’Adua who leveled their places of worship and along the line, their leader was killed.

"And that was my crime and why they wanted to kill me. But people that are afraid of me changed the story and they keep on doing it. Every day, they write different things but you and I know that nobody is above the laws of Nigeria. I believe that President Buhari, even if it is his son or blood brother that is a Boko Haram, he will arrest and prosecute him. So the allegation is the figment of the imagination of the writers," he said.

Kanye West breaks up fight between photographers at LA airport (photos)

The 38 year old rapper played peacemaker when he broke up a fight between two photographers at the Los Angeles airport on Friday.

Kanye was mobbed by fans when he touched down at the busy terminal. He was all smiles until he noticed two photographers pushing each other. Both men got into a heated altercation and attempted to snatch one another's camera equipment.

As soon as he noticed, he quickly stepped in to break up the scuffle and did so by restraining one of the photographers. The photographer graciously thanked Kanye with a huge hug.

PREMIER LEAGUE UNVIELS NEW LOGO

The Premier League have revealed a new logo to be used from the 2016/17 season.

The design sees the Premier League move away from title sponsorship, which is currently Barclays, and will be known as 'the Premier League' from the start of the next season, rather than the 'Barclays Premier League'.
The Premier League was previously sponsored by Carling (1993-2001) and Barclaycard (2001-2004), while some of the new logos will see the title shortened to 'PL'.
 Premier League managing director Richard Masters said: "From next season, we will move away from title sponsorship and the competition will be known simply as the Premier League, a decision which provided the opportunity to consider how we wanted to present ourselves as an organisation and competition.

"We are very pleased with the outcome: a visual identity which is relevant, modern and flexible that will help us celebrate everyone that makes the Premier League.
"We look forward to sharing more details of our new positioning in the coming months."
The change represents the Premier League's first visual rebrand since 2006.

Young Chicago woman killed by stray bullet while on the phone with her dad

 

25 year old Aaren O'Connor was hit by a stray bullet and died in a Chicago hospital two days later. She had just returned home from work that evening and was sitting in her car outside of her apartment, talking to her father on the phone. There was a fight outside of the car that she had nothing to do with, and shots were fired. One of the bullets hit her in the back of the head.


Her dad Mr O'Connor, said during the conversation she started repeatedly saying 'my head hurts' and quickly became incoherent, but neither of them knew what was wrong. he said at that point she hadn't realized she had been shot in the head, and neither did he: 

"I didn't realize that I was having the last conversation with my daughter. Every few moments she said my head hurts." 

"When she hung up the phone, I called her boyfriend , he then got in touch with her roommate who found her unconscious outside''.

"I would have loved to have told her that I loved her just one more time and was proud of her, she was an amazing girl".

Aaren's father also had a message for the leaders and people of Chicago who he says need to address gun violence in the city, which is spiralling out of control. A GoFundMe page has been set up by her coworkers in her memory

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Monday, February 8, arraigned Joseph Lah Leh, Nwinunu Sorbari and Emenike Henry before Justice U.N Agomoh of the Federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt, Rivers State on a five- count charge bordering on conspiracy, forgery and obtaining money by false pretence to the tune of N4, 500,000.00 (Four Million, Five Hundred Thousand Naira.


The petitioner, Uzoma Obilor, Managing Director/CEO, Bikpak Limited, alleged that one of his business associates, Kenule Kukang, sometime in May, 2012, brought a proposal for getting contracts from the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, and then introduced him to Lah Leh (the first accused person) who claimed that he could help him( Obilor) secure the contract. 
Obilor further alleged that he was shown a tender, which Kukang, who also claimed to be a special assistant to one L.F.  Ntoue, his in-law and Board member representing Federal Ministry of Finance in  the NDDC, confirmed to be genuine.

Thereafter, Lah Leh allegedly demanded for N5million from Obilor to start the processing of the contract, which was paid in three instalments of N2.5m, N2m and N500, 000 with a Standard Chartered Bank cheque No.00000151.

The petitioner further alleged that, after he had made the full payment, the first accused person, who was accompanied by Sorbari, the second accused person, gave him a contract award letter.

Worried by the incessant threats and harassment for more money  by the accused persons, the petitioner then visited the NDDC to verify the award letter, which was found to be fake.
However, all efforts by the petitioner to get back his money were unsuccessful.
The accused persons pleaded not guilty to the charges when they were read to them.

In view of their pleas, the prosecution counsel, M.T. Iko, asked for a trial date, However, the defense counsel, O.C. Wechie, prayed the court to grant the accused persons bail.
Justice Agomoh granted the accused bail in the sum of N1, 000,000.00 (One Million Naira) each, with two sureties in like sum. One of the sureties must be a civil servant not below Grade Level 12, while the other must be a blood relation who must be verified by the prosecution and court bailiff.
Justice Agomo adjourned to March 15, 2016 for trial and ordered the accused persons to be remanded in prison custody pending the fulfilment of their bail conditions.

Those found guilty in N2.1bn arms deal fraud shoud face firing squad - Taskforce DG says

The Director-General of the National Taskforce (NATFORCE), Emmanuel Osita, reportedly said those found guilty in the ongoing $2.1 billion arms deal fraud should be made to face firing squad. According to Tribune, Osita said this while speaking to newsmen in Abuja yesterday February 9th.

"Corrupt officials should face firing squad. So, we are of the opinion that Nigerians should support Buhari. If Buhari fails, that means Nigeria has failed. This is our only opportunity. Corruption saga is our main problem in Nigeria. If we do not fight it now to a standstill, we are in trouble.”he said

The alleged sexual offences were said to have taken place in January 2015 at two locations in County Durham. He denied two other charges of sexual activity with an underage girl after arriving at Bradford Crown Court this morning with his girlfriend Stacey Flounders.

The Former Man City winger, 26, initially denied all four charges leveled against him but has now admitted to two out of the four charges. Child grooming is the act of befriending and establishing an emotional connection with a child, and sometimes the family, to lower the child's inhibitions for child sexual abuse.

His girlfriend Stacy Flounders who had a baby for him just few weeks before he was initially arrested has stood by the footballer ever since the allegations were made against him and followed him to court today.

The player was initially suspended by Sunderland in the wake of his arrest, with many calling for him to be sacked by the club, but he was then allowed to return to the team.

Future finally reacts to Ciara's slander lawsuit, calls it a joke

Ciara must be very bitter over this break up for her to go as far as suing her child's father for defamation. Reacting for the first time, Future called the $15million slander lawsuit a joke, saying Ciara made money off bad-mouthing him. TMZ reports below...

Sources close to Future tell TMZ, the rapper thinks it's absurd his baby mama filed the slander suit, since she's talked plenty of trash on him. We're told he believes Exhibit A is her 2015 platinum selling hit, "I Bet."

With lyrics like ... "You know that it hurts your pride but you thought the grass was greener on the other side. I bet you start loving me as soon as I start loving someone else. Somebody better than you” -- the song is widely believed to be about Future allegedly cheating on Ciara.

Our source says he could've sued over that, but didn't want to be petty. As for whether he fires back with a lawsuit now -- we're told he's considering it, but hasn't seen Ciara's docs yet. His team claims the process server at LAX failed to deliver.

Bottom line: it's a safe bet this is gonna get much uglier.

This woman paid $14,000 to look like Disney Princesses

Sarah Ingle has taken Disney princess impersonations to an entirely new level. The 25-year-old from Denver, Colorado, has spent more than $14,000 on custom-made costumes for the nine princesses she transforms herself into: Belle, Cinderella, Snow White, Ariel, Aurora, Rapunzel, Merida from Brave, and Elsa and Anna from Frozen.

Sarah, who works as a marketing manager during the day, owns 17 different outfits and 16 different wigs for her princess transformations, which take three hours each to achieve.

"It takes a lot of time to get into the outfits because they have lots of layers that tie up at the back," Sarah told Hotspot Media. "Then I have a different wig and makeup look for each princess. I have to contour my face when I play Aurora from Sleeping Beauty because my face is much rounder than hers. And as I have hazel eyes, I have to wear blue contact lenses for the Little Mermaid and Elsa from Frozen."

Regarding her intricate outfits, Sarah says:

"Each dress can take up to six months to make and I source many different materials from all over the world, including silk and organza before drawing my final designs. I'm very fortunate to have a full time job that pays for the beautiful dresses and material because I'm so passionate about looking the best that I can for the performances."

The impersonator also naturally has Disney princess-like features, which helps her pull off each look. 

"I was born with really big eyes, and people were always telling me that I looked like a cartoon doll or Disney princess. I suppose that my big eyes just help me to appear more cartoon-like, which is great for what I do."

Sarah's gotten so good at her transformations that she and her boyfriend started a business called Princess Ever After, where people can hire princesses for their events (her boyfriend occasionally accompanies her as a prince). She charges about $145 to make a princess appearance at birthday parties and events, but she also visits children at hospitals and volunteers (in costume, of course) as well. 

 "I'll never forget the day that I was asked to perform for a little girl who was celebrating the beginning of a break from her cancer treatments," she says. "Seeing her face light up as she sang along with me was just incredible and it was just the most amazing day."

Though Sarah has already made a career of dressing like princesses, she says her goal is still one day to be a "real" one. "It would certainly be a dream to be a real Disney princess - I'd love to be Ariel. Maybe one day I can go for an audition and they'll give me my dream job."
